George S. Butler (first row far right) and his Middletown high school class of 1884. (See names below.) Two last names jump out for me as a person who frequented Middletown in the 1960's and early 70's: William Bunce and Florence Pelton. Both names of businesses on Main Street.

Middletown High School Class of 1882 as sophomores. Carrie Augusta Savage (future wife of George S. Butler) is second from left in the front row.
